Update on life

Wow, I cant believe it is nearly 3 weeks since I have done an update. Things have been quite hectic here I must say. Working every day means I dont have nearly as much time to do the things I used to do!
Work is going great, and I am really enjoying it. It has been quite an adjustment though, as it is really totally different to what I am used to. It is a much slower pace but far more intellectually stimulating. We havent started visiting the hospitals yet, but probably will start this month. I am even making up Powerpoint Presentations, so quite proud of myself since I had never even opened PP up at the beginning of the month! We are still waiting for our computers though, so it makes life a bit difficult, but hopefully they will come soon. The people that I work with are also lovely, and everyone is very helpful. I did see one of our doctors from the ward the other day and he told me of a Unit Managers Post that will be coming up soon, so that is something to think about, but I prayed so hard about this one, and I feel this is where God is leading me. I dont want to chop and change jobs either as I feel I should give this one a chance.
Brenda is doing well. She did really well at school this term and even came 3rd in class which I was thrilled about. When I think of all we have battled with at school and people kept saying that it will eventually come right. I never really believed them, but hopefully it means that it is coming right. I have definitely seen a change of attitude in her this year though, so that is a good sign too. She is in Johburg at the moment with Dayle and seems to be having a good time, and has been very spoiled. She gets back on the 8th and the house really seems lonely without her.
We had a lovely Easter, quite but nice to spend time together and just relax. Went to the beach on Easter Monday with Andria, and her boys, which was lovely. The weather was brilliant and the kids had a lovely time playing in the rock pools and catching crabs. Wish life could be like that every day.

Favourite Foto Friday no 22

Got no Easter Pics because Brenda has spent the last 4 Easters with my sister, so this is one from the Sunday School Picnic last week. The weather was very wet, but dried out long enough for them to gt wet and cold in the foam machine!

Mazebook post 2

This is the rest of the pages, couldnt seem to get them in in one post.

Mazebook

This is a mazebook that I made today from instructions on this blog
Is going to be given away so still got to add journalling photos etc. I was quite nervous to make something for someone else, but here it is.

Favourite Foto Friday #21

This weeks FFF was Spring Fever, but since it is autumn here, decided to go with this one from a couple of weeks ago at the mini-olympics at school. It is very slightly blurry, but brenda had such a good time on this slide, so had to include it!

New job is going great. The first week was a bit overwhelming, but this week I have started to settle in, and really feel like I am going to enjoy it. Got my first lecture on Monday, to 100 students, so will have to start practising my shouting!

For Tricia

This is in tribute to the most amazing person Tricia,, Tricia gave birth to baby Gwyneth at 24 weeks while being seriously ill herself. Their story, as told by Nate, Tricias husband has really inspired me!
I wish for Tricia
1. That first slobbery kiss in the morning and that special grin when your child wakes up and sees you, or you come home and they see you.
2. For Gwyneth to come home from school, clutching a handmade card and a bunch of crushed, dead flowers- you will think it is the best present you ever recieved.
3. To find your child applying your lipstick to the dog!
4. To find your child drawing beautiful pictures - all over the wall.
5. To spend 3 hours in Trauma department after your child has put a bead/ball etc up her nose!
6. To spend 4 hours in Trauma after your child has pulled off the cast that was only applied 3 days ago!
7. To go to many many Christmas/Easter/spring plays and see all the gorgeous kids acting and the joy and delight on their faces.
There are many many more but far too many too mention. Nobody told me when I first embarked on this journey called motherhood that it would be the hardest, most frustrating job that I would ever do. That I would be driven to tears and anger many more times than I could have thought possible. But also that it would be the most amazing, joyfilled journey, that I would experience so many wonderful experiences and make so many good friends. The good definitely outweighs the bad, and I wouldnt change it for the world. So, to Tricia, I pray you, baby Gwyneth and dad Nate, that you get to experience all this and more!

The theme for this week is One year ago today. This was the closest I could find. It was Crazy Hat day at Brenda's school!
